Get a Fine Art Print for Less Than Five Dollars!

I don't know if you have seen the prices of greeting cards of late, but many cost $5 to $8 for a decent one, and the card face is not always that great or has the wrong message.

Well you can get a quality greeting card with a print of my fine art painting on it for under $5, or one of my photography pieces, send your own personalized message in it, and the great thing about it, is the art printed on the card doubles as a small 5x7 piece that can be framed, by the person receiving the card, or for even yourself.

Mother's Day is coming up soon. This is one of my printed paintings of peachy roses I bought for my own mother one year, who really liked it. Another plus is that my 3D style really makes a flat printed card look like better quality. And their card configuration tool lets you not only adjust the image where you like it on the card, but adjust zoom, and lets you rotate it & not look weird for those certain images that go off the border.

Rewarding Yourself

Do you Reward Yourself?

How do you treat yourself? When you made an accomplishment, how do you celebrate? When you stuck through a grueling day, or went through something painful, how do YOU say "I deserve this wonderful thing!"?

I Just Got Free Paint!!

I've been doing a lot of promoting for a bulk paint manufacturer I deal with, namely this "Simple Sculptural Rose" online video course I made that over 2100 people have now signed up to. I was down to my last bit of thick paint, and when ordering more when I was told my order would be at no charge in appreciation. WOW! That was about $50 worth too!

I Got Gallery Representation Today!!

Today I got gallery representation by this crazy weird spelled Xanadu Studios Gallery in Scottsdale, Arizona. I live in California.

I can't believe it. It's such a beautiful gallery. Not really my style being South Western, but thought my path was to go alone and sell art on my site. I have had such technological barriers, trying to find server room, and aching to grow, have a blog and have everything in one place. No, everything's scattered across the web, just for me to be able to fit.

Are You a Complex Puzzle Piece?

Complex Puzzle Piece

October 28, 2013 at 9:16 pm - by Ruth Collis

Are you a simple person or complex? Are you truly unique or do you try to fit in? Or blend in just to interact and relate with people? This is some thought provoking melancholy about dimension. Impasto is dimension of relief shape and height off the surface of a canvas. There are many sides and angles of the whole thought of dimension though.

Do you fit in? How about... do you fit someone? Do you fit anyone? How about over time? Are you so complex and too unique to where it makes it hard to relate to anyone? Have you longed for one person to match all your sides, instead of many people only relating with one small side you have? How about worse, where you finally meet someone that meets 90% of your sides, but then they rip your heart out & are undeserving of you... Were they really a fit for you after all? Or did they present an illusion... conforming to fit for a time, but lying to themselves and you while not presenting themselves as they truly are?

Can Paint be Crochet'd?!

Tests revealed what I thought could happen, if I just let a line of paint dry…… ability to crochet it into a string of paint! This is my invention I am excited about that takes painting to a whole new level of dimension.

New Logo for the Squishable Paint Technique:

It is made by squishing a special brush with thick paint to form a jellyfish shape & get intricate lines in about a second, that would take hours to paint line by line normally.

Braided Paint!
May 23, 2013 at 10:47 pm - by Ruth Collis

I’d like to start this this blog of my testing in the laboratory out with a bang, and show what thick acrylic paint is capable of now. This is really paint… a 2-strand twist, and regular 3-strand braid. I’d like to take this one to the copyright office, one of those discoveries I am just really proud of, made Monday, April 15, 2013. Who ever heard of braiding paint?

Pastels & Oil Bars at Joshua Tree

Occasionally, I will switch up mediums, constantly keep up to date on the new technologies of art materials, or in this case here, have experimented in various mediums before the wonderful 3D thick painting adventures.

One of my favorite outside places of inspiration are the artistic rocks of Joshua Tree National Park that create a lot of wonder at how the rocks were formed, seeing all the textures, and finding cave-like entrances. There are real petroglyphs (rock engravings from prehistoric times) there too.
