Giant Coral Painting

Giant Coral Painting
Work in Progress (WIP)
Entirely Acrylics on Stretched Canvas
48x60

"This hidden wonder is all the sculpted forms that I keep adding to, once finding a new coral shape I've discovered. This was the envisioned piece that started it all when in the art store and seeing the pastry tips Liquitex put on their tubes of paint a time ago."  Ruth Collis

This is organ pipe coral below, formed from thick acrylic paint into a literal sculpture, standing off the surface. No painting has had this much incredible relief in all of history, thanks to the thicker paints manufacturers are making now.

Palette knife, cake decorating tips, and special applied techniques make this kind of textured painting reach unheard of dimensions in sculptural quality.
